New Hampshire native, with many years of experience in the music and entertainment industries. Jeff's been the lead singer and guitarists for several Classic Rock bands as well as performing solo during his career. Over the years he's played hundreds of venues large and small, appeared at shows with many notable artists and at several prestigious Songwriter Festivals/Events, most held by invitation only. In the world of music, he's quite well known and respected for his work, an extensive knowledge of industry ins and outs and willingness to be helpful to those less experienced. Music has been one constant throughout his life that has brought him happiness, many friends and at times a lifesaver. Indie Music Reviews Published The Following After Discovering One Of Jeff's Songs Was #1 In The U.S. On NumberOneMusic's "Classic Rock" Chart For 14 Consecutive Weeks, Early In 2016:
Jeff Hayford is a singer, a songwriter, and producer who has played venues large and small and at events with many notable artists. He brings realness to music. “Bad Attitude” is a well-crafted song that is accompanied by Jeff’s singer/songwriter ways. He captures the artistry of songwriting and makes things go well from the start. He does the same thing with “Hear Him Sing.” If you like artists like John Mellencamp, then you’d like this softer side of Hayford’s music. “Bounce Back” picks it all up for the whole lot. If you’re into Petty and Hiatt, check out Jeff Hayford.
At the age of 19, Jeff was very nearly killed while on a motorcycle by a careless driver making an illegal left turn. The collision left him with permanent serious physical difficulties and drastically changed his view of life and world events. He had what's referred to as a Near Death Experience at the scene which, among other things, later instilled a need within himself to feel worthy of miraculously surviving, his "second chance" and to be beneficial to others for the remainder of his second life. How to effectively fulfill this inner need became a consuming challenge.
Artist John Sloan is credited as saying, “Though a living cannot be made at art, art makes life worth living.” Remembering triggered other memories from the blurry months of 1984 that followed the accident. This was the time when Jeff first begun to feel a new inner purpose. While doing some volunteer work, he had suggested including holding a "Battle Of The Bands" show with proceeds going to a humanitarian causes. There was too much to do to make it happen, however, a seed was planted, one that nearly took root as the idea was discussed with his philosophy professor and a business development post graduate student. A non-profit business model was discussed often, with others joining in. It started off when Jeff pointed out the obvious flaw in John Sloan's statement - while Farm Aid helps communities and farmers it does nothing to help others in the music business when it really could. How many great artists could have been discovered if they had them open the shows?
Over the years that followed, Jeff continued to search for ways to fulfill the inner need that only grew stronger with time. He performed at and organized many small scale local musical benefit events, yet it never seemed to be enough. In the mid 90's in part following medical advice he and his wife moved to Florida. Where more tragic, painful events, came into his life. He had spent several years trying to help his father who after years of being a dynamo, self made success had become severely clinically depressed and gone from rags to riches to rags. Ultimately taking his own life after years of talking about it. With the sting of that still fresh he also went through a divorce and fell into a very dark time, far from being able to fulfill his inner need to be of service to others, struggling to help himself.
At a loss of where to turn, how to find happiness or what to do, music provided the answer. A friend back in New Hampshire, who was also one of his favorite songwriters released his first solo CD and quite by chance a copy of it came to his desk. The title cut "Through Your Own Backyard" hit him like the answer to a prayer, which it probably was he's been known to say. I can never thank you enough my friend for bringing me back to where I belong. Although at one event I introduced the writer (you know who) and said that, to which he took to the mic "Now I'm trying to write one to get him the hell out of here." Thankfully he hasn't yet.
Not long after his return to NH, Jeff brought his thoughts together, founding A4H(tm) "Arts4Humanity." In May of 2016 after meeting the women of his life which he refers to her as Angel he began working on his future goals, hope and dreams. Presently many of these hopes have come to fruition and his dreams are never too far from his goals. Jeff Hayford is an exceptional multi-talented and highly gifted artist. Throughout his life he has suffered through many triels and tribulations some of which many of us will never experience in a lifetime that being said his thirst for life is exceptional and greets each and every new day as a precious gift. He is the most extraordinary example of inspiration to humanity...
