The (Double Rainbow) Over the past year of 2015 many people from all over the world have witnessed rare double rainbows appearing in their skies. I myself witnessed this unforgettable experience during the summer after a heavy rain storm. It literally took my breath away and my reaction was to cry happy tears of joy. “Why is this happening” I said to myself, it must be telling us something for anything this beautiful and so grandeur to appear suddenly in the sky. I believe without a doubt it forces us to look up and stop to admire it’s breath taken beauty but why?
I first researched the religious symbolism. In the Genesis account, a rainbow appears right after the great worldwide flood that brought in order to remove sinful and evil-minded man from the earth. It symbolized God's mercy and the formal agreement He made with Noah (representing mankind) not to destroy the world in such a way again.
And God said, "This is the sign of the covenant (formal agreement) which I make between Me and you and every living creature with you, for everlasting generations: I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be the sign of the this agreement between Me and the earth . . . and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy man."
In Ezekiel's first vision from God, known as the "wheel in the middle of a wheel" vision, the prophet Ezekiel compares the glory of God to what he actually saw. Eziekiel who is better known as Archangel Zeikiel said "As the rainbow appears in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of His goodness and brightness."
In the prophetic book of Revelation, which foretells the end of man's rule on the earth and the coming of Jesus to set up his Kingdom. The first mentioning of the rainbow in Revelation is for told when the apostle John uses the rainbow to describe the glory and power of God.
It is also mentioned in the scriptures that God while sitting on his thrown in his kingdom of heaven is surrounded by pure light and the majesty of a rainbow.
I then researched the spiritual aspects and symbolism of a double rainbow. The first rainbow represents the material and the second the spiritual. It is meant to help us align both our outer world with our inner spirit. Rainbow symbolism graciously bestows the energy of blessings, they intuitively tell us to hold on to hope to believe beyond a shadow of a doubt that blessings are upon us, and to follow our hearts and our desires.
The Rainbow is the merging of seven colors of light. A perfect harmonic combination which produces a symbol of beauty, promise and enlightenment. We are living in unpredictable, uncertain and dangerous times. Perhaps this rare double dome of heavenly beauty serves as a reminder coming to us as a sign from the heavens, and wisdom from the universe. This aura of magnificent colors is saying to us humans that we need to reflect within, as compared to the rainbow's light, reflection, clarity and purpose. The significant number seven are the colors of the rainbow blending together in unity as one. This could be our answer that keeps showing up in the skies after such earthly turbulence and devastation, tempestuous power, greed and control, and the never ending battles between good & evil.
The rare double rainbow keeps appearing in our skies and reminding us we need to act as a replicate of it's symbolism, honoring its agreement, its mercy, and only then will we begin to understand. It is only through unification that humanity will endure and finally find peace and harmony on this earth. I believe through my quest perhaps I have found my answer to the meaning of the unique and rare
